  6. I hate to argue with someone who knows the scientific names of plants but I believe the swallowtail butterfly in on a yellow coneflower seed head.

    • Hi Joe — Thanks for commenting. The seedheads are gray-headed coneflower (Ratibida pinnata), but the blooms (behind the coneflowers) are flowering spurge (Euphorbia corollata). Sorry for any confusion, Joe! I’ll clarify that in the credits. Thanks for reading — I love it that you were looking so closely. I wish everyone paid such close attention to the natural world!
