- Although they weren’t written about a prairie, these hopeful words from J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Ring, part of “The Lord of the Rings” epic trilogy, seem especially fitting.
- All that is gold does not glitter,
- Not all those who wander are lost,
The old that is strong does not wither,
- Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
- From the ashes a fire shall be woken
- A light from the shadows shall spring;
- Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
- The crownless again shall be king.

Thanks Cindy. You always seem to give me inspiration and comfort on the days that I need it the most. You’ve quoted my favorite book, and put a new perspective on one of my favorite excerpts from the trilogy. Thank you.

As a fan of both Tolkien and also of Cindy’s pix and writing, this one really struck home. I loved the pictures and prose to accompany it. Hope all this turns into a book, so I and others can savor any time we wish!
